Wiveca Ragnarsdotte Rubinow Painting

This is "Green Surf" by by Wiveca Rubinow. Wiveca was born in Sweden and moved to Northern California after marring Sydney Rubenow. She studied in Paris under Henri Matisse and is one a a handful of artists who was able to make a living from her art. The painting is on stretched canvas and measures 30" X 39 3/4" and has a simple wood molding frame that was popular with the California School at the time. The piece would benefit from a good cleaning.
