Abstract Water Color by Jim Bertram

This lively painting was done by local Mendocino/Fort Bragg artist Jim Bertram in 1987. It is done on heavy paper and measures 12 3/4" X 15 1/4" framed and matted. Mr. Bertram's bio from "Mendocino Artists-An Endangered Species" states that he "has a specialized form of nonverbal calligraphy" which "varies as do the finished pieces, ranging from one square inch to 6 square feet. Some paintings use no color: some contain newspaper clippings: some are warm-hued pastel oils on canvas". The artist was associated with the Mendocino Art Center.
