Art Deco Paper Mache Tray with White Stag

Offered is a striking Pre WWII tole painted paper mache tray done in the Art Deco style. The tray is decorated with a landscape featuring a white stag and 2 white does. The forest, flowers and brush are done in rust, honey yellow, gold gilt, brown, gray and black. The raised tray side is rust with black trim. There is wear to the outer black tirm, a few chips to the paint on either handle, the gold gilt has tiny spotting that may be from the manufacture process, there is a light water ring at the top center tree edge and some of the flowers on the left lower corner have heavy wear . Overall the tray has normal wear as one would expect for a piece this age-nothing excessive. The tray measures 13" X 19" and is marked on the back with an incised flower and red stamp "PT. NO 679?? Alcohol Proof Made in Japan" and a "K" in a circle.
