50 ANS ART MODERN~2nd Edition

This is the book from the famous Modern Art Exhibition held in Brusselles in 1958. The paperback book is profusely illustrated with black & white and some color plates from a WHOS WHO of Modern artists from this era. With biographical notes on countless artists as well as examples of their work.
Fair copy of an important seminal work in second edition. The text is in French. The book has stains to the cover, a 1/2" tear radiating downward from the top/front spine, a partially torn portion of binding between pages 112 and 113, pages 147 thru 158 are loose at the bottom 1/4 near the juncture of the spine binding & page and moisture damage has wicked up the bottom 1/4" of the photo pages. This book is from my library as I have replaced it with an earlier edition. An important book from a pivotal time in the history of Modern Art.
