Takemura Japanese Woodblock Print

This very striking print shows a street scene around a shrine with ladies walking on a rainy day. The piece measure approximately 7" X 16 1/2" (9 7/8" X 19 1/2" in its original black lacquer frame). The sticker for publisher Hiedeo Takemura (1926-39) is shown is on the back of the print. There are 2 areas at the top of the print that appear to be original to the composition but at first almost appear to be damage There is some fading to the color. Please excuse the glare from the glass on the second photo.
