Abstract painting by Sara Provan

This painting is a good representation of the Abstract movement in the 1950's through 1960's. The paint is built up in several places giving it a look similar to an encaustic piece. It is done on paper (?) glued onto a wood board and signed on the back. It measures 8 1/4 " X 14" (8 3/4" X 14 3/4" framed). The original wood frame is not well done-so the painting would benefit from new framing. There is some very minor paint loss to the corners mentioned for accuracy.
